Children's Residential Assistant Manager, Mold
The Supply Service are recruiting for an Assistant Manager on behalf of a Children's Residential home based in Mold, Flintshire.
The Assistant Manager is an integral role in supporting the holistic development of our clients young people and ensuring they live in a safe and happy environment. This includes supporting all aspects of the Care home operations alongside, and in support of, the Care Home Manager.
The successful applicant will have extensive knowledge of residential children’s settings and be skilled at managing a complex caseload whilst maintaining a professional approach to all matters.
As the Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in fostering trusting relationships with children, staff, and professionals. Additionally, you will help maintain a consistent and nurturing home environment that fulfils its statutory obligations regarding compliance while also striving to achieve outstanding outcomes for children.
Responsibilities include:
- Ability to lead and mentor other staff, to motivate, engage and successfully support staff who are caring for Young People exhibiting very challenging behaviour.
- Ability to make effective decisions within established procedures
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to relate well to Young People and adults
- Ability to understand others’ perspectives and develop positive rapport with the wider staff team.
- Demonstrate self-awareness and commitment to personal and professional development
- Capacity to work flexibly and under pressure

- Excellent communication and active listening skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.

Requirements
Level 2 qualification or equivalent in Maths/Numeracy and English/Literacy – Essential
EITHER Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Children & Young – People) – Essential
NVQ 4 Leadership and Management for Care Services – Desirable
OR NVQ 4 Management (assessed in a care setting)
OR NVQ 4 Health and Social Care (Children and Young People)
OR NVQ 4 Care
Hold a valid UK driving licence – Essential
