The Supply Service are recruiting for a Children’s Residential Support Care Worker on behalf of a SEMH Residential home based in Welshpool, Powys.

Qualified Care Workers must be a minimum of Level 3 qualified with enough experience to have gained that qualification. Ideally will have worked in a Therapeutic Community and advantageous  if they have worked with HSB.

Successful applicants will have the ability to adapt to different settings effectively, whilst supporting children and young people aged 11 to 18 with a range of acute and enduring mental health issues.
Challenging and complex needs are present, including mental health issues and associated learning needs.

The Residential home accommodates a number of young people and staff work on a 2 on – 4 off rota. Sleep-ins are not required for this role.

Responsibilities include:

• Be a positive role model whilst leading shifts under the direction of the Home Manager
• Creating a positive environment & atmosphere to accommodate the needs of the young person
• Providing appropriate care and support as identified in the young person’s placement plan
• Providing support & preparation towards independence for young people
• Support & Guidance to young people by removing barriers to learning in order to promote effective participation, enhance individual learning, raise aspirations and achieve their potential.
