The Supply Service are recruiting for an ALN Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a school in the Wrexham area.

We are looking for a patient, enthusiastic and reliable individual who has experience supporting children and young people with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Support Worker looking to make a genuine difference within a supportive school environment.

The role will involve:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with ALN
• Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, which may include ASD, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties and complex learning needs
• Helping pupils engage with classroom activities and access the curriculum
• Supporting emotional regulation, confidence and independence
• Implementing strategies outlined within pupils’ Individual Development Plans (IDPs)
• Working closely with Teachers, ALNCOs and other support staff
• Creating a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
• Supporting pupils with transitions and routines throughout the school day

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience supporting children or young people with ALN/SEN
• Is calm, patient and able to build positive relationships
• Can adapt their approach to meet individual pupils’ needs
• Is confident supporting pupils who may display challenging or distressed behaviour
• Works well as part of a wider school team
• Is reliable and committed to supporting pupils consistently

Experience within a school is desirable, although we would also welcome applications from candidates with relevant experience within residential childcare, youth work, care or support work who are looking to move into education.
